Professional Background

I am a seasoned Master Mariner with extensive experience in the global maritime industry. I earned an MSc in Maritime Policy and Shipping Management from Cardiff University, graduating with distinction in 2024.

Throughout my career, I have commanded vessels operating under time-charters for major oil companies, managing complex operations and fostering professional relationships with charterers, owners, agents, terminals, and port authorities worldwide. My roles have required advanced communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and managerial skills, further honed through representing charterers, owners, and managers in diverse international settings.

During my postgraduate studies, I developed a robust academic foundation in maritime economics, shipping management, ship finance, maritime policy, port management, international logistics, risk management in supply chains, market analysis, and ship chartering. The dissertation that I authored  focused on the decarbonization of maritime transport and alternative marine fuels, including LNG, ammonia, methanol, and nuclear-powered merchant vessels. This research, combined with my participation in industry conferences, meetings, and assemblies, has deepened my expertise in alternative fuels, decarbonisation, and sustainability within the maritime sector.

As an experienced captain, I have commanded VLCCs, LR2, LR1, and MR tankers globally, maintaining an impeccable safety record without accidents or incidents. I have been entrusted with the ultimate responsibility for charter party execution, compliance with trading requirements, and delivery of both technical and commercial requirements. My career since 2001, serving on vessels with multinational crews for leading owners and managers, has equipped me with invaluable insights into the operational standards, technical expectations, and commercial dynamics of the shipping industry. I am a collaborative team player who values integrity, respect, and excellence in all professional endeavours.
